PROJECT
FOCUS
HR ACCOMPANIMENT SOLUTION
My
challenge was how to engage my current employees to implement more
complex organizational systems into the business. I was looking
for a process that would pull all the elements of my business together
in an integrated way to ensure consistent results.
The
first step we took together was the process of enhancing my employee
engagement proficiency through a one-to-one coaching process in
leadership and "soft skill" management. From there we
went to work on the companys organizational structure and
employee position agreements to gain a clearer picture on our particular
roles and responsibilities within the business.
The
following is an example of where our work together paid off in the
first two months;
We
have 40 video clubs that are integrated into convenience stores
across the province of Quebec. We had one store owner-partner come
to our head office to discuss a situation with our Director of Operations
and myself.
Later,
my Manager of Customer Service approached me to ask why he was not
included in the meeting. He pulled out his position agreement and
the company organizational chart to confirm that he should have
been included in the meeting. He was completely right. I agreed
that the next time we would do a better job of communicating and
include him in the process.
This
situation arose because of the organizational chart we created and
position agreements we developed for all the employees. These two
tools have been very helpful for my employees and myself to see
how everyones role fits into our overall business structure.
I was happy about the response I received from this particular employee.
It was very satisfying to experience my employee taking on full
accountability for his position.
I should
have hired Mpower twenty years ago so I would have 200 stores today,
not just 40. They are giving me the guidance and support to bring
all the elements of our business together. The process they use
is very structured and clear, and Im 100% satisfied with the
results weve received.
